ICA Podcast Network
Senior Production Coordinator
The International Communications Association (ICA) is an international association of academic scholars specializing in the field of human communication. Their ranks include over 5000 members scholars at leading universities across the globe.
I came to ICA in the Spring of 2021 initially as an editor on ICA’s initial ever podcast, “One World, One Network‽”. ICA President Noshir Contractor afterwards expressed interest to me in starting a formal podcast network for the organization. He asked for my help, and I migrated into the role of Senior Production Coordinator.
I led the expansion of the ICA Podcast Network from a single podcast to nine biweekly shows. I interviewed and hired a team eight podcast producers. I led one-on-one weekly meetings with producers to check in with them and provide feedback. I established the overall production process for making episodes (from editing audio, to publishing on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, to finally web posting and social media). The structure allowed for editorial oversight while enabling each producer to work remotely and on their own schedule.
I also helped develop new shows on the network and worked with show hosts on building their show identity. I found themes which best fit with their vision, and briefed them on pre-show preparation for questions to ask their interview guests.
I subsequently served as a consultant for the network and advised the network on overall production, brand expansion, and building their online presence.
